lout software package provides Typesetting system, an alternative to (La)TeX, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install lout
lout is installed in your system.
Make ensure the lout package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lout *
You will get with lout package name, version, architecture and description in a table
